My First International Journey - Day 4

So here we were on the last day in Dubai! Felt really bad that a wonderful journey was coming to an end! Many of the people in the contingent had left for home on early morning flights and a handful of us was scheduled for a late Saturday evening flight. Thanks to the organizers, we had a few activities lined up for the day.

We were taken to the Dubai Yacht Club in the Dubai Marina area. A yacht was waiting to take us across the Gulf of Arabia. We sailed through the waterways of Dubai Marina which is amidst the line of stunning high rises.

The captain took us around the Palm Island to the area where we could witness the grandeur of Atlantis, The Palm from the sea! It was looking even more beautiful compared to that when one sees is from the base of the building... (nothing beats the view from the heli though!)

After a LOT of pictures, we moved on to the other coastline areas of Dubai, next stop is the Burj-Al-Arab. The view of this hotel isn't that great as one can get from the front but nonetheless, it's a different experience altogether. Also in the background, one can get the sight of Jumeirah beach hotel as well.

That was all that was possible in that short time. The sun was blaring down on us, we headed back to base, slowly and steadily. On the way, we did get to see the under-construction buildings on the Palm Island, the under-construction World Islands and the Sky Dubai runway as well.

Once back, it was just afternoon and we were scheduled to check-out from the hotel in the evening. Most of us went our own ways to spend time around Dubai, meet friends and relatives. I visited my aunt who was a resident of Dubai and spent rest of the noon with her family at their residence. They had picked me up from the nearby metro station and then, later on, dropped me at the hotel.

As scheduled, we checked-out of the hotel and a car was waiting to take us to the airport. Thanks to the assigned Marhaba service at the airport, making it through check-in, immigration and more was a breeze. After a little bit of last minute shopping at the duty-free shops, we were on our way back home. Bye Dubai! Hello India....

Hope you've liked reading the experiences in my first international journey.

Until next time,
Adios!
